Matt Kelly graduated from The Arts Institute at Bournemouth in 2004 with a HND in Graphic Design and is now a Boscombe based Artist and Graphic designer. He creates memorable contemporary, fun and colourful artwork and is currently enjoying working on portrait painting and developing his personal style.
Matt’s early influences included artist’s such as Roy Lichtenstein and Jasper Johns which have provided different styles of interest for him and he enjoys their use and exploration of colours. Matt’s influences also come from having been involved in Graffiti and Street Art and being inspired and influenced by Street artist’s Keith Haring, Shepard Fairey and ABOVE. His most recent works draw influence from the designer Gavin Strange.

In September 2010 Matt left his full time occupation as an IT Technician at Highcliffe School to concentrate on his artwork. Since then he has exhibited work in The Pinewalk in Bournemouth Gardens and at this years New Forest Show.
In March 2011 Matt Kelly joined the Enterprise Programme run by The Princes Trust which gives help, advice and guidance to young professionals and entrepreneurs setting up business and being self-employed. Through the Enterprise Programme he was put in contact with the visual artist Hazel Evans who has welcomed him to The Monochronium exhibition to not only participate in The Bookshelf live art but to also feature a new portrait work of art of the artist herself.
